PRISM NOTES - SESSION LOG
Project history, decisions, and architectural milestones
================================================================================
[2026-01-10 21:15] MONICA SESSION: Refined Notes List Header UI
- Changes Applied:
* Removed graph status badges from note/conversation form containers
* Made note/conversation form headers responsive (text-lg sm:text-2xl)
* Replaced "Refresh" text button with icon-only refresh button
* Scaled refresh icon to match button group visually
* Reduced "New Note" and "Conversations" button height (h-6 with leading-none)
* Made all three buttons the same height with flex centering
* Aligned button group to vertical middle of Notes header
* Adjusted responsive breakpoints for mobile-first design
- Result: Clean, minimal header with responsive button scaling and proper alignment
- Status: Fixed and committed (53bf74e)
[2026-01-10 20:45] MONICA SESSION: UI Refinements & Polish
- Changes Applied:
* Centered all main containers (body: flex items-center justify-center)
* Reduced card spacing dramatically for compact dense layout
- Grid gap: gap-5 → gap-2 (between cards)
- Card padding: p-5 sm:p-6 → px-2 py-0.5 (internal spacing)
- Internal spacing: space-y-3 → space-y-0 (elements in cards)
* Improved attachment indicator icons with outline strokes instead of fills
- Image: mountain/landscape icon (clearer than grid pattern)
- Video: play button with frame (recognizable)
- Audio: speaker icon (listening/playback, not microphone which is for recording)
- File: document with corner fold (standard file representation)
* Fixed mobile view icon visibility by increasing size to 24px and adding flex-shrink-0
* Replaced purple badges with subtle hover-on-gray style for icons
- Result: Cleaner, more compact UI with better visual hierarchy
- Status: Fixed and committed (a168fe2)
[2026-01-10 20:10] MONICA SESSION: Fixed Container Injection Bug
- Issue: Refactor commit (cee9157) had CONTAINERS + initializeContainers() code
but ALSO kept all old HTML in DOM, creating duplicates and preventing injection
- Root Cause: During refactor, old HTML wasn't removed before injection system added
- Fix Applied:
* Removed all duplicate HTML container elements from DOM (login, notesList,
noteDetail, noteForm)
* Restored CONTAINERS object with all 6 templates (login, notesList, noteDetail,
noteForm, conversationForm, conversationsList)
* Restored initializeContainers() function to inject templates on page load
* Called initializeContainers() BEFORE updateAuthUI() to ensure DOM ready
* Added conversation feature support (was added in refactor, now working)
- Result: Page now dynamically injects all containers from template literals
- Status: Fixed and committed (c733930)
- Next: Verify rendering works correctly when accessing page
[2026-01-10 14:00] Container Refactoring: Template Literals (Option 1)
- Decision: Extracted all container HTML to template literals in index.html
- Reasoning: Allows independent container updates without touching markup
Each container is now self-contained and versioned separately
- Implementation:
* Created CONTAINERS object with keys: login, notesList, noteDetail, noteForm,
conversationForm, conversationsList
* Added initializeContainers() function that injects all templates on page load
* Containers maintained in-file for simplicity during active development
- Future Intent: Migrate to Option 2 (separate files in containers/) when project
becomes more established and needs full file separation
- Status: Functional and ready for independent container updates
